Milpitas, CA–City of Naga, Cebu, Philippines, January 2026 — SV Tech Source, a provider of data center engineering, IT asset management, and e-waste and solar panel recycling solutions, announced the donation of 35 Chromebook units to multiple Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councils in City of Naga, Cebu, Philippines. The initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to youth development, digital literacy, and expanded access to education.
The donation was initiated by Mr. Abito P. Illustrisimo, Operations Manager at SV Tech Source and a native of City of Naga, Cebu, who sought to give back to his hometown community in support of youth education. Having immigrated to the United States more than 20 years ago, Illustrisimo has remained deeply connected to his roots and committed to community service.
Throughout January 2024, SV Tech Source donated Chromebook units on four separate occasions, five units to Barangay Colon, five to Barangay Balirong, five to Barangay Inoburan, and 20 units to Barangay Naalad. Representatives from the recipient councils, SK Chairpersons Hon. Lyrah Mae R. Repollo, Hon. Rica Kaye C. Abellanosa, Hon. Aldwin H. Postrero, and Hon. Raven B. Sayago expressed their heartfelt appreciation, noting that the devices will play a critical role in advancing technical education and supporting the development of an E-Learning Hub for students and youth with limited access to digital resources.
All donated Chromebook units were transferred without monetary consideration and are designated exclusively for educational use, with the recipient SK councils assuming responsibility for proper maintenance and safekeeping.
“These donations reflect our shared belief that access to technology is essential for today’s learners,” said Abito P. Illustrisimo, Operations Manager at SV Tech Source. “By supporting local youth councils, we hope to empower students with tools that help them learn, grow, and prepare for future opportunities.”
Through initiatives like this, SV Tech Source continues to support grassroots education efforts and strengthen partnerships with local communities, ensuring that technology serves as a bridge, not a barrier to opportunity.
